Building on our success and experience in the field human orthopedics with Orthonov, (physical recovery and pain treatment with compression cryotherapy splints), we have decided to apply the same technologies for the world veterinarian and, more particularly, the Equine world in creating the company Equi'Nov.
OUR SYSTEM
Through vasomotor, biochemical and neuroconductive phenomena, cold under pressure produces several particularly beneficial effects in traumatology and in postoperative follow-up:
Analgesic effect: the lowering of the temperature causes locally a kind of anesthesia, which generates a analgesic effect (pain reduction).
Anti-haemorrhagic effect: the temperature and the rate of tissue cooling influence the vasomotor effects which, associated with the pressure, generate a vasoconstriction at the origin of the drop in blood flow.
Muscle relaxant effect : following the application of cold, spinal reflex pathways produce a strong inhibition of gamma motor neurons and, consequently, a significant reduction in muscle tone; this has the effect of stimulate the healing of muscles and tissues.
Anti-edema effect: the cold under pressure reduces metabolic activity by generating a strong decrease in the enzymes responsible for inflammation and their activity. Postoperatively, the role of the inflammatory reaction is to evacuate “waste” from the body. It is therefore not a question of preventing it but on the contrary of favoring it. The application of cold will reduce the swelling and lower the temperature. The inflammatory reaction can then continue, and contribute to eliminating the waste resulting from the intervention, thus promoting recovery.
The combination of these effects allows our products to be an indispensable tool for faster recovery with easier and less painful rehabilitation.
